Our Beloved Pyper

Pypee brought so much love and happiness into our home. She had a special place in each of our hearts. She loved walks and just the word made her go crazy. If she wasn't done walking she would pass our circle and look back like I'm not done yet lets go. She always pooped in this certain dogs yard, which John and I thought she was trying to get revenge because he scared her. She loved going to the mailbox with my dad every morning it was their little ritual. And no matter what time of night he got home she always got out of bed to greet him. She loved car rides and when we would be close to getting back to the house she would know exactly where we were...home. She loved to play outside especially running after balls but she would never bring them back. She couldn't swim though she fell in the pool a couple times, her poor little legs couldn't kick enough to keep her afloat. Whenever anyone was lifted off the ground Pypee would try to bite any hanging toes, clothing or anything she could get ahold of. One of my favorite things was she would always wait by the front window in her favorite chair for us to come home and she would run and greet you at the door, she would bite our fingers to show her love. If she was especially excited to see you she would run through the house. She loved trying to sleep with me and John in bed, we tried many times but for some reason she ended up with the whole bed. She would scratch relentlessly at a closed door until she got in, but initially she would run into the door with her nose to see if it would open, it made us laugh. She loved going to grandma and grandpa's house, she would get so excited driving down their street and would run through their house as fast as she could. She loved waking Con up for school in the morning by licking his face and then cuddling down into his bed; she always treated him like her baby. She Loved treats and would do any one of her many tricks just to get one. Car washes scared her which was hilarious to watch. She loved tearing up paper from packages, chirstmas was her favorite. She absolutely hated getting her hair cut, the groomers would tell us what a princess she was, she would rather hang out with them than the other dogs. But picking her up was always a joy because she acted out of control happy to see you. She could always tell when you were sad and she would lay with you and comfort you. I would find her napping on our bed sometimes when I came home from work for lunch. We always knew when she did something bad when we got home because her ears would be down and she would look at us so apologetically. She loved to jump at balloons until she pulled it to the ground and popped it. John would turn her on her back and they would growl at each other..who knows? She loved to watch movies in our theater room, she had her own special seat. She was very independent and would never come to you if you asked, we had to beg. I loved dressing her up, especially for halloween and she hated every minute of it. She loved cheerios so after you were done with your morning breakfast she couldn't wait to finish your milk and cheerios, I called her "kitty". She loved when we went to costco and brought croissants home, she would hang out by them all day hoping to get any little taste. And yogurt cups she would lick clean with her giant long tongue. She loved to sun outside on the back porch, what a girl! She had her favorite toys and would rummage through her bucket until she found one. She was so smart she would tip her water and food bowls over if they were empty and come get you. And she only would drink fresh water, yes she was spoiled. She got sick really quick and took us all by shock. Her last day I was lucky enough not to have work so I got to lay out on the grass with her for a couple of hours. I talked, cried and laughed...I was losing my best little buddy. But this is how each of us felt. She made each of us feel that special and important to her. She waited to pass until everyone got home. My dad got to take her to the mailbox one last time, having to carry her. And of course she licked Con's face one last time, saying by to her baby. We all said our goodbyes cried alot and she passed. John was so sweet he made the cutest slide show to watch of all the good memories we had of our Pypee. She is greatly missed. We each still cry from day to day. I miss the sound her little paws made on the wood floor. An amazing dog like her will be in our memories forever. John has been putting flowers on her grave and soccer balls. He couldn't believe how attached he grew to her! I have a hard time still even looking out the window at her grave. There's a void in my heart that is hard to patch.

Oh, how sad! I had no idea Pyper was so sick. It is going to be weird going to Grandmas and not having her there to join us. I am sorry to your whole family for the loss.

What a beautiful tribute to Pyper! Our hearts are with you and we know the hole she has left. It's amazing that we can love a little creation as much as we do. Our prayers are with you!
